Quick answer: The AliExpress Summer Sale code window itself runs June 1–10, 2026 (warm-up May 29–31), immediately followed by the 618 Grand Sale peak on June 15–20. The broader "summer sale season" — including 618 and the post-618 continuation — extends from early June through mid-July. The best-value categories are electronics accessories, home goods, and fashion basics. Always verify a discount against the 90-day price history before buying — many sellers inflate shelf prices 2–3 weeks before the sale window opens. Install AliShopping Tools on the Chrome Web Store →
The AliExpress Summer Sale 2026 is not a single event — it is a rolling series of discount windows that run from late May through mid-July. Understanding the structure of the sale, which categories genuinely discount, and how to avoid inflated "fake sale" prices is the difference between saving 30–50% on something you actually want and paying last month's full price with a red badge on it.
This guide covers what is actually worth buying, how the sale calendar works, and how to extract maximum savings through coupon stacking — without getting burned by price manipulation.
What Is the AliExpress Summer Sale?
The AliExpress Summer Sale is the platform's annual mid-year promotion event, running from approximately late May to mid-July. It is structured around several overlapping promotional windows:
Summer Sale (June 1–10, 2026, warm-up May 29–31) — the first platform-wide code window (AFSO* global series plus country-specific pools)
618 Grand Sale (June 15–20, 2026) — the highest-discount window of the summer, named after JD.com's founding date of June 18, using its own AFMY* global series. This is the peak of the summer promotion calendar.

The term "Summer Sale" on AliExpress refers collectively to all of these phases. When shoppers search "AliExpress Summer Sale", they typically want to know: is the 618 peak still running, and what is genuinely worth buying right now?
Key fact: The Summer Sale is not exclusive to summer in the Northern Hemisphere. For Australian buyers, June is the end of the financial year (EOFY), making the 618 overlap a particularly high-value window — you get AliExpress discounts timed with the local EOFY shopping season.

How this compares to Amazon Prime Day: Amazon Prime Day 2026 is expected in mid-July (Amazon typically announces 4–6 weeks in advance). The AliExpress 618 peak runs 3–4 weeks earlier. If you are deciding between the two sales, AliExpress categories like phone accessories, home decor, and fashion basics are better bought during 618 — electronics and name-brand goods are better compared against Prime Day pricing.
The key difference: AliExpress specialises in accessories, components, and fashion items with no brand premium. Prime Day is stronger for brand-name electronics, household appliances, and Amazon-specific deals.
Best Categories to Buy During the Summer Sale
Not every category discounts equally. Based on historical AliExpress sale patterns and seller behavior data, here is a breakdown:
Categories With Genuine Deep Discounts
Electronics accessories — phone cases, charging cables, screen protectors, earbuds (non-Apple/Samsung), portable chargers, USB hubs. These are high-margin categories for sellers and regularly see 40–60% genuine sale prices during 618. The accessories market is also highly competitive on AliExpress, which keeps price manipulation less common because sellers cannot inflate prices without losing visibility.
Home and kitchen goods — LED strip lights, organizers, small kitchen tools, storage containers, decorative items. High seller competition + large catalog = genuine discounting. Shipping times are the main consideration (factor in 15–25 days standard shipping).
Fashion basics — t-shirts, casual wear, socks, accessories. Margins are high and competition is intense. Genuine discounts of 30–50% off are common. Avoid buying shoes during sale events — sizing inconsistencies are amplified when you rush a purchase.
Gadgets under $30 — smart plugs, ring lights, desk accessories, cable organizers. These are impulse-buy items where sellers aggressively cut prices to clear stock before new models arrive.
Categories to Approach Carefully
Name-brand electronics — genuine branded items (Samsung, Apple, Sony) are rarely discounted significantly on AliExpress, and counterfeits spike during sale periods. If a branded item is 70% below retail, this is a red flag, not a deal.
Watches and jewelry — pricing is erratic. The same item can vary 10x in price across sellers during a sale. Use price history to identify the actual baseline before assuming a sale price is genuine.
Furniture and large home goods — shipping costs frequently offset the discount, especially for buyers outside China. Calculate total landed cost before buying.
AliExpress has a layered coupon system. During the Summer Sale, three types of discounts can apply to a single order simultaneously:
Layer 1 — Sitewide platform codes. These are published by AliExpress directly and apply across most categories. During the pre-618 window, codes like AFSO (typically: spend thresholds unlocking $3–$8 off) and SS6FR (France-specific) are active. During the 618 peak, a separate code set replaces them — check the active promo codes page for the current verified list.
Layer 2 — Seller store coupons. Individual sellers run their own coupon promotions, independent of the platform codes. These are visible on the seller's storefront or on the product listing page ("Get $2 off — Collect Coupon"). Seller coupons stack on top of platform codes.
Layer 3 — AliExpress coins and credits. If you have accumulated coins from previous purchases, these can be redeemed as a percentage off at checkout. This is the least impactful layer but adds up over multiple orders.
The critical step most buyers miss: collect the seller coupon before adding to cart. Seller coupons are often only visible on the storefront page, not the product page. Navigate to the seller's store, look for the "Coupons" tab or a banner offering discounts, and collect before proceeding to checkout.
Price manipulation is systematic on AliExpress during sale windows. The typical pattern:
Seller lists a product at $16 for 3 months (the genuine market price)
Two to three weeks before the summer sale, they raise the listed price to $25
During the sale, they apply a "36% off" badge, discounting back to $16
The buyer sees a 36% discount. The actual savings are 0%
This is not a fringe behavior — it is a well-documented pattern that affects a significant portion of "discounted" items during major AliExpress sales.
The most reliable method is the 90-day price history. If the current "sale" price is at or above the price from 60–90 days ago, the discount is not genuine.
AliShopping Tools shows the complete price history chart directly on every AliExpress product listing page — no tab-switching, no external tools required. The chart shows the daily price for the past 90 days, making price manipulation immediately visible.
What genuine vs fake discounts look like:
Genuine: Price was $25 consistently for 90 days. Current sale price: $16. Chart shows a clear downward move in the last week. This is a real 36% discount.
Fake: Price was $16 for 90 days. A spike to $25 appeared 3 weeks ago. Current "sale" price: $16. Chart shows the spike and return to baseline. Net savings: $0.
If you do not have AliShopping Tools installed, you can use AliExpress's own price history feature on some product pages (available in select markets) or check seller history manually — though this is slower and less comprehensive.
Summer Sale Strategy: Step-by-Step
This is the recommended buying sequence to maximize genuine savings during the AliExpress Summer Sale.
Step 1: Build your list before the sale opens.
Before prices change and seller coupons adjust, browse your target product categories and save items to your wishlist. This gives you a baseline: you will see exactly what changed when the sale window opens.
Step 2: Install the price history tool.
Before the sale opens, install AliShopping Tools and browse your wishlisted items. The extension captures and displays the 90-day chart on each product page. Note the pre-sale price for each item you plan to buy.
Step 3: Check the price on opening day of the 618 peak (June 15).
On June 15, revisit your wishlisted items. Compare the "sale" price against the 90-day chart. If the price genuinely dropped below the pre-sale baseline — this is a real discount. If the current price matches or exceeds the price from 30 days ago — it is a fake discount; wait or skip.
Step 4: Collect seller coupons before adding to cart.
Visit each seller's storefront page. Navigate to their "Coupons" section. Collect any available coupons before adding the product to your cart. These stack with platform codes.
Step 5: Apply sitewide codes at checkout.
At checkout, enter the current verified platform code from the promo codes page. If the pre-618 codes (AFSO/SS6FR) have expired, use the confirmed active 618 codes for the sale window.
Step 6: Combine with AliExpress coins if available.
If you have accumulated coins from previous orders, apply them at checkout after the coupon code. Coins apply after sitewide discounts and add a small additional percentage off.
Step 7: Check seller ratings and delivery estimates before confirming.
A good deal on a product from a seller with <95% positive feedback and 30+ day shipping is not a good deal. Filter for sellers with 4.7+ stars and confirm the estimated delivery date before placing the order.
FAQ
When is the AliExpress Summer Sale 2026?
The AliExpress Summer Sale 2026 runs from June 1 through approximately July 15. The peak discount window is the 618 Grand Sale, running June 15–20, 2026. Sitewide promo codes active during the pre-618 warm-up (AFSO, SS6FR) are replaced by the confirmed, active 618-specific codes for the sale window.
Which categories have the best genuine deals during the AliExpress Summer Sale?
Electronics accessories (cables, cases, earbuds), home goods (storage, LED lighting, kitchen tools), and fashion basics (casual wear, socks, accessories) consistently offer the deepest genuine discounts during the AliExpress Summer Sale. These categories have high seller competition, which keeps price manipulation less profitable and more detectable.
How do I know if an AliExpress Summer Sale discount is real or fake?
Check the 90-day price history for any product before buying. If the "sale" price is equal to or higher than the price from 60–90 days ago, the discount is not genuine. AliShopping Tools shows the full price history chart on every AliExpress product page, making this check instant. A real discount shows a clear downward price movement in the last 1–2 weeks below the historical baseline.
Can I stack promo codes with seller coupons on AliExpress?
Yes. AliExpress allows stacking of seller store coupons with sitewide platform codes and AliExpress coins simultaneously. The typical stacking order at checkout is: seller coupon first (collected from the seller storefront), then sitewide platform code applied in the coupon field, then coins redeemed as a final percentage off.
Is the AliExpress Summer Sale better than Amazon Prime Day for shopping?
It depends on the category. For electronics accessories, home goods, fashion, and gadgets under $30, AliExpress Summer Sale (618 peak) consistently offers lower prices than Prime Day because AliExpress has no brand premium and ships directly from manufacturers. For branded electronics (Apple, Samsung, Sony), name-brand home appliances, or items requiring fast delivery, Prime Day is more reliable. The AliExpress Summer Sale runs 3–4 weeks before Prime Day, so there is no need to choose — you can evaluate both windows.
What promo codes work during the AliExpress Summer Sale 2026?
Pre-618 codes (active June 1–13): AFSO (spend-threshold discount, varies by market) and SS6FR (France/Francophone markets). These expired around June 10–13. The 618-specific codes are confirmed and active for the sale window — see the current Summer Sale promo codes guide for the live verified list.
