If you are shipping to a Nederlandse address, there is important news for the AliExpress Summer Sale running June 1–10, 2026: the Netherlands does not have a dedicated event promo code series for this event, and the global AFSO* code pool is explicitly blocked for NL addresses.

Netherlands: No Event Promo Code for Summer Sale 2026
The official AliExpress affiliate email for the June 2026 Summer Sale shows the global AFSO* code series (the fallback pool used by Japan and many smaller markets) with an explicit exclusion list that includes the Netherlands:

The Netherlands is also absent from the EU VIOSS* pool — that shared EU series covers AT, BE, CH, CZ, DK, FI, HU, IE, PT, and SE, but not NL.
In short: NL has no event-specific code series for the June 2026 Summer Sale. Trying AFSO or VIOSS codes at checkout with a Dutch shipping address will return "kortingscode is ongeldig."
What Dutch Shoppers Can Use Instead
No code doesn't mean no savings. Three discount routes that do work for NL during the Summer Sale:
1. Seller-side Summer Sale discounts (up to 80% off)
AliExpress sellers participating in the Summer Sale mark eligible listings with the Summer Sale badge and apply direct listing-level price cuts — up to 80% off shelf price. These discounts are automatic; no code is needed. Filter for "Summer Sale" or look for the badge on the listing card.
2. Choice coupons and cart vouchers
AliExpress regularly issues platform-wide Choice coupons (visible in the "Vouchers" tab in your account) that apply at checkout regardless of country event code eligibility. During the Summer Sale window, AliExpress typically pushes additional platform vouchers to Choice product buyers. Check your account's coupon wallet before checkout.
3. AliExpress Standard vouchers (listing-level)
Individual sellers often attach listing-level vouchers (€1–€5 off per item) separate from the event code system. These apply automatically when you add the item to your winkelwagen — look for the "Claim" or "Coupon" button on the listing page.
iDEAL and Klarna still available
Even without an event code, NL shoppers get full checkout support:
iDEAL — instant Dutch bank payment via ABN AMRO, ING, Rabobank, SNS, and others. No FX conversion needed.
Klarna achteraf betalen — 14- or 30-day pay-later at checkout.
Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) and PayPal.
21% BTW (Dutch VAT) is collected at checkout under AliExpress's IOSS registration for orders under €150 — no surprise customs invoice from PostNL on delivery.
How to find actual Summer Sale deals for NL
Since there is no code to apply, the key discipline is filtering for listings with real Summer Sale discounts:
Open AliExpress and set your delivery address to your Netherlands postcode (format: 1234 AB).
Search your category and filter for "Summer Sale" if the filter is available, or look for the Summer Sale badge on listing cards.

The Summer Sale ended June 10, 2026. The live event is now the AliExpress Mid-Year Sale (618), running June 15–20, 2026 — confirmed from the official AliExpress affiliate brief. For this event the Netherlands now has its own dedicated NLTP* code series (EUR-denominated).

Why doesn't the Netherlands get an event promo code?
AliExpress's affiliate programme explicitly blocks AFSO (the global fallback code) for NL and does not include NL in the VIOSS EU pool. The exact commercial reason is not public, but Dutch buyers can still access the full range of seller-side Summer Sale discounts and platform vouchers — the event code layer is missing, not the discounts on the listings themselves.
Can I use a VPN to claim codes from another country?
AliExpress validates codes against the shipping address, not the IP address. A ESSS65 code entered on a Dutch shipping address will fail at checkout regardless of your VPN location. Only use the shipping address that matches where the parcel will actually be delivered.
Do AFSO codes work if I ship to Belgium instead?

Will I get hit with customs charges?
For orders under €150 placed through AliExpress's main IOSS-registered checkout, BTW (21%) is collected upfront and the parcel clears PostNL or DHL without additional customs invoices on delivery. For orders above €150, expect a customs handling fee (typically €13–17) plus any duty. Always buy through the main AliExpress storefront, not a third-party reseller that may not be IOSS-registered.
Are there any NL-specific payment bonuses?
Not for the June 2026 event. Unlike Korea (which has KakaoPay and Mastercard stacking bonuses during events), NL has no payment-method specific Summer Sale bonus. iDEAL, Klarna, credit cards, and PayPal all work the same — no payment-method advantage exists.
Source the right products before June 10
Without an event code, the price history check is even more important for NL buyers — there is no code discount to absorb a fake markup.
