AliExpress Delivery Times to Thailand — 2026
| Shipping Method | Typical Delivery Time | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| AliExpress Standard Shipping | 12–25 days | Free on most orders |
| AliExpress Choice Shipping | 6–12 days | Often free on Choice products |
| DHL Express | 4–8 days | ~$15–30 |
| FedEx / UPS | 5–9 days | ~$20–40 |
Most realistic expectation: 15–22 days door to door for standard shipments to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, and other major cities. Rural provinces in Northern or Southern Thailand may add 3–5 days depending on Thailand Post last-mile coverage.
Factors affecting delivery to Thailand
- Carrier at origin: Cainiao Standard (default AliExpress Standard Shipping) typically takes 15–22 days. China Post registered mail can take 25–45 days — avoid it for time-sensitive purchases.
- Customs clearance at Thai Customs: Most parcels clear through Suvarnabhumi cargo hub or Don Mueang in 2–5 business days. Orders above THB 1,500 (~$42) that are stopped for customs assessment add additional time.
- Last-mile carrier: Thailand Post handles standard postal parcels (track at track.thailandpost.com). Kerry Express TH, Flash Express, and J&T Express TH handle many AliExpress Choice and premium courier deliveries.
- Peak season: Singles' Day (November) and 618 (June) add 7–14 days to dispatch processing due to seller volume.
Tracking AliExpress parcels in Thailand
- Go to AliExpress → My Orders → Track Order
- Copy the tracking number (typically starts with LP, RR, EG, or an alphanumeric string)
- Paste it at 17track.net — covers both the China/Cainiao segment and Thailand Post segment in one view
- Once in Thailand, check Thailand Post tracking (track.thailandpost.com) for postal parcels, or the Kerry Express / Flash Express app for courier deliveries using the same tracking number
- For DHL Express: track directly at dhl.com
Common tracking number prefixes:
- LP — Cainiao Standard (most AliExpress Standard Shipping)
- RR / EG — Thailand Post Registered / EMS
- JVGL — DHL Express
Thailand Customs — What You Need to Know
Import duty framework for AliExpress parcels
The Thai Customs Department governs import duties on postal and courier shipments entering Thailand.
| Order Value | Customs Treatment |
|---|---|
| Under THB 1,500 (~$42 USD) | Typically duty-free for personal imports |
| THB 1,500–THB 10,000 (~$42–$280) | Import duty by category + 7% VAT |
| Over THB 10,000 (~$280) | Full formal customs assessment |
| Commercial quantity (multiple identical units) | Full customs treatment regardless of value |
Practical threshold: Thailand's THB 1,500 (~$42 USD) de minimis is low compared to Malaysia and the Philippines. At $1 ≈ THB 36, the threshold is roughly $42 — most AliExpress orders of more than two or three items will exceed this. Plan purchases with import duty in mind.
Import duty rates by product category
| Category | Import Duty Rate |
|---|---|
| Phone accessories (cases, cables, chargers) | 0–10% |
| Electronics devices (earphones, smartwatches) | 5–10% |
| Clothing and textiles | 30% |
| Cosmetics and beauty products | 30% |
| Footwear | 30% |
| Toys | 10–30% |
| Home goods and furnishings | 10–20% |
Key insight: Thailand applies 30% import duty on clothing, cosmetics, and footwear — the highest category rates in Southeast Asia among the markets covered here. For these categories, AliExpress may lose its price advantage once duty and VAT are applied.
7% VAT: Applies on top of the customs value plus import duty. Calculated as: VAT = (Customs Value + Import Duty) × 7%.
Total landed cost example
For a THB 2,500 (~$70) skincare set above THB 1,500 threshold:
- Import duty 30% = THB 750
- 7% VAT on (THB 2,500 + THB 750) = THB 227.50
- Total additional cost: approximately THB 977.50 (~39% on top of item value)
For a THB 1,800 (~$50) phone accessories bundle:
- Import duty 0–10% = THB 0–180
- 7% VAT on (THB 1,800 + duty) = THB 126–139
- Total additional cost: approximately THB 126–319 (~7–18% on top of item value)
Category strategy: Electronics accessories and phone accessories at 0–10% duty remain highly competitive on AliExpress for Thai buyers even above the threshold. Clothing and cosmetics at 30% duty require careful landed cost comparison with Shopee TH and Lazada TH before purchasing.
If your parcel is held by Thai customs
- Thailand Post or your courier will notify you via SMS or physical notice at your address
- Prepare: AliExpress order receipt (screenshot is acceptable), tracking number, and valid ID (Thai ID card or Passport)
- For postal parcels held at the customs office, pay the assessed duty and any storage fees to release the parcel
- For DHL Express or Kerry Express parcels, the courier's brokerage team contacts you with a duty bill — payment required before delivery
Payment Methods in Thailand
Thai buyers have several convenient payment options on AliExpress:
- Visa / Mastercard: International credit and debit cards with international transaction capability enabled. Most Thai bank-issued Visa/Mastercard debit cards (Kasikorn, SCB, Krungthai) work.
- PromptPay: Not directly supported in the main AliExpress checkout — use a linked debit card instead.
- TrueWallet: Available via some AliExpress checkout configurations — check if your checkout version supports it.
- Local Thai bank cards: Kasikorn (KBank), SCB, Krungthai debit cards with Visa/Mastercard branding work for international transactions when enabled through your bank's app.
Tip for KBank users: Enable international online transaction in the KBank mobile app under Card Settings before attempting to pay on AliExpress.

Best Categories for Thai AliExpress Buyers
Lowest customs duty risk (0–10% duty or under THB 1,500 threshold)
- Phone accessories: Cases, cables, screen protectors, car mounts, wireless chargers. Import duty 0–10%. Most individual items stay under the THB 1,500 threshold and enter duty-free. The best-value AliExpress category for Thai buyers.
- Computer accessories: USB hubs, keyboards, mice, desk accessories. Low duty and often priced below the THB 1,500 threshold per item.
- Home storage: Organizers, racks, hangers. Import duty 10–20% for furnishings, but individual low-value items often clear below the threshold.
Moderate value, worth checking customs math
- Skincare and beauty (under THB 1,500): Individual skincare items — sheet masks, serums, toners — priced under THB 1,500 enter duty-free. For bundle orders above the threshold, factor in the 30% import duty.
- Electronics devices: Earphones, smartwatches, portable speakers. Import duty 5–10% makes these reasonably competitive even above the threshold compared to Thai retail prices.
Higher duty categories — calculate before buying
- Clothing and fashion: Import duty 30% + 7% VAT. Thailand's 30% clothing tariff is the highest in Southeast Asia for this category. For orders above THB 1,500, Shopee TH and Lazada TH are often cheaper on an all-in basis.
- Cosmetics and beauty sets: Import duty 30% + 7% VAT erodes the AliExpress price advantage for bundle orders. Thai beauty platforms and K-beauty importers on Shopee TH frequently undercut AliExpress after duty.
- Footwear: Import duty 30% makes shoes significantly more expensive than comparable products available domestically.
How to Detect Fake Discounts on AliExpress
During the 618 sale and other promotional windows, many sellers inflate the listed price 2–4 weeks before the event, then "discount" back to the normal price. The badge says "50% off" but the effective savings are zero.
How to check: Install AliShopping Tools → open any AliExpress product page → the 90-day price history chart appears automatically inline on the product page.
- Real discount: Item was THB 550 for 3 months, now THB 350 during 618 → genuine 36% off
- Fake discount: Item was THB 350 for 3 months, seller raised it to THB 550 two weeks before 618, now "discounting" back to THB 350 → 0% real saving
This is especially common in skincare sets, phone accessories bundles, and branded-look fashion items during sale events.
FAQ
How long does AliExpress standard shipping take to Thailand?
AliExpress Standard Shipping to Thailand typically takes 12–25 days. The most common delivery window for Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket is 15–22 days. Thai Customs sets the de minimis at THB 1,500 (approximately $42 USD at $1 ≈ THB 36). Orders above this value face import duty by product category plus 7% VAT. The threshold is low compared to Malaysia and the Philippines — most orders above two or three standard AliExpress items will exceed it. Clothing and cosmetics face a 30% import duty rate, making these categories less competitive than phone accessories (0–10%).
What payment methods work on AliExpress in Thailand?
AliExpress accepts Visa and Mastercard debit and credit cards in Thailand. Most Thai bank-issued Visa/Mastercard cards (Kasikorn, SCB, Krungthai) work when international online transactions are enabled in the bank's app. TrueWallet is available via some AliExpress checkout configurations.
